Dr. David H. McCormick, President, Ariba, Inc., nominee as Under Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration:
"The Council has become a leader in our region giving Pittsburgh access to prominent experts and policy makers, helping adults and students alike better understand the changes around us, and challenging us to think about our world and our future."
Sponsorship Opportunities
For 78 years, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh has promoted a nonpartisan forum in which to consider the full range of international issues. We remain the only organization in all of Western Pennsylvania so dedicated. Partnerships with Pittsburgh’s corporate leaders are integral to the Council’s success, and each of our programs provides each of our unparalleled partners both the intangible satisfaction of supporting award-winning programming as well as tangible business benefits.

Luncheon Discussion Group Series
Over seven decades ago, the Council began as an informal gathering of Pittsburghers interested in discussing world affairs. Early on the group instituted a luncheon series in which corporate, civic, and government leaders join together to hear from international leaders in the political, corporate, and government worlds. Since its inception, the Luncheon Discussion Group Series has hosted such international luminaries as John F. Kennedy, Condoleeza Rice, John Heinz II, and, most recently Daniel Brutto, the President of UPS International.
Support these extraordinary luncheons and identify your institution with some of today’s most acclaimed and recognized leaders. Entertain clients, reward employees, while simultaneously meeting the past, the present, and the future leaders of our region.

Great Decisions
Our Great Decisions series offers a year’s worth of facilitated small-group sessions designed to promote informal give-and-take among participants and explore all sides of an issue. The program hosts more than 450 educators, students, professionals, and interested individuals each year; it also provides a forum for in-depth discussion of each subject and thus creates an opportunity to sponsor a program which provides a more personal and intimate impact to each of the participants.
